Using Computer Numerical Control plasma pipe cutting machine to automate the machining process is a smart way to achieve consistency, precision, and efficiency in all of your cutting work. Plasma cutting is already thought by many to be a more efficient and precise method than working with oxy-fuel or high-pressure water jets.
In simplicity, some kind of gas (often compressed air) is Ionized into plasma state with high temperature. This plasma gas is blown out of the nozzle to the surface of the material to be cut and form an electric arc. The plasma gas is at very high temperature and it melts the metal. Meantime, the melted metal is blown away by the plasma flow, leaving a gap of cutting.
The speed reducer of the plasma metal cutting machine is equivalent to the joints of the human limbs. In order to pay more attention to the maintenance of the reducer, the following is an introduction to the installation and use of the CNC plasma cutting machine reducer:
1. During the installation and debugging of the CNC plasma cutting machine, when installing the reducer, attention should be paid to the centering of the transmission center axis, and the error should not be greater than the use compensation of the coupling used. Good alignment can extend the service life and obtain the ideal transmission efficiency.
2. When installing the transmission parts on the output shaft, it is not allowed to strike with a hammer. Usually, the assembly fixture and the internal thread on the shaft end are used to press the transmission parts in with bolts, otherwise, the internal parts of the reducer may be damaged. It is best not to use steel fixed couplings. Improper installation of such couplings will cause unnecessary external loads, resulting in early damage to the bearings, and even serious damage to the output shaft.
3. The reducer should be firmly installed on a stable level foundation or base, the oil in the oil drain should be able to be drained out, and the cooling air circulation should be smooth. The foundation is unreliable, causing vibration and noise during operation, and causing damage to bearings and gears. When the transmission coupling has protrusions or gears and sprockets, it should be considered to install protective devices. When the output shaft bears a large radial load, the reinforced type should be selected.
4. The installation device according to the regulations ensures that the staff can easily get close to the oil mark, vent plug, and oil drain plug. After the installation is in place, the accuracy of the installation position should be fully checked in order, and the reliability of the tightening of each fastener should be able to rotate flexibly after installation. The reducer adopts oil pool splash lubrication. Before the operation, the user needs to remove the screw plug of the vent hole and replace it with a vent plug. According to different installation positions, and open the oil level plug screw to check the height of the oil level line, add oil from the oil level plug until the lubricating oil overflows from the screw hole of the oil level plug. The test run shall not be less than 2 hours. The operation should be stable without shock, vibration, noise, and oil leakage, and should be eliminated in time if any abnormality is found.
Operation Of plasma pipe cutting machine:
Plasma cutting processes rely on a jet of ionized gas that melts and severs a material. The gas is heated to a temperature of over 20,000° C and an electric arc forms between an electrode and the workpiece. The electrode is positioned in a gas nozzle cooled by water or air, which constricts the arc forming a narrow, high-velocity, high-temperature stream of plasma.
When the plasma jet strikes the workpiece, it transfers intense heat due to ion recombination, causing the gas to return to its normal state. The heat melts the metal material, and the stream of gas blows the molten material away through the cut. During this process, the surface around the cutting area remains cool. Standard gases used in plasma cutting include argon, nitrogen, hydrogen, or an argon/hydrogen combination. Integration of compressed air makes the plasma method more competitive to oxy-fuel cutting of carbon-manganese and stainless steels. Whereas, inert gasses are effective for high-quality cutting of reactive alloys.
As the plasma device moves along the surface, it produces a clean, linear cut with little minimal slag or dross. The width of the melted zone can be less than 1/16" (1.6mm). Temperatures generated during the process reach up to 16,600° C. Piercing the metal at an acute angle of approximately 60 degrees produces the best results. An excessive amperage or inadequate gas flow can cause the formation of a double arc, leading to a significant reduction in nozzle life.
